Michael Pestrak joins the firm after spending seven years at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. While at the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Pestrak handled a wide variety of cases, including arguing appeals on motions, liaising with expert witnesses, conducting countless bench trials and more than 15 jury trials.
Highlights of his juries include non-fatal shootings and handling cases with defendants who had been identified as part of a criminal gang through the Focused Deterrence Program. Part of his assignment also included community-relations. This allowed him to attend community meetings to raise awareness of what the Office was doing for the community and communicate the areas in which the DA’s Office could use the community’s help.
Since joining Kelley Jasons McGowan Spinelli Hanna & Reber, Mr. Pestrak has been applying his skills from his time spent in the DA’s Office to best represent our clients’ interests in various ways, including taking depositions, drafting responsive pleadings and motions, and building triable cases that indentify the flaws in Plaintiff’s cases.
